Music for Food Kicks Off 2026 with Jazz Vespers on January 11
Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Phoenix is launching a new year of its beloved Music for Food ministry with a Jazz Vespers service on Sunday, January 11, at 5:30 p.m. The evening will feature Beth Lederman, joined by Todd Herzog, followed by a reception for fellowship and community connection.
This Jazz Vespers marks both a beginning and a celebration. Through the generosity of participants throughout 2025, the Music for Food ministry raised over $10,000, providing more than 8,000 family units with boxes of food, including much-needed meat protein. These gifts continue to meet urgent needs in the community while embodying Christ’s call to care for neighbors who are hungry.
As Pastor Tim Perlick shares, this ministry is made possible by the movement of the Holy Spirit through generous hearts: music becomes a catalyst for compassion, and worship flows naturally into service. Jazz Vespers offers a space where art, faith, and justice meet—where the joy of music strengthens the work of feeding the most vulnerable among us.
All are welcome to attend this free event, enjoy exceptional jazz, and support a ministry that continues to nourish both body and spirit.
