Creating Space: Queer Lutherans Invited to ELCA Listening Sessions
Queer Lutherans across the church are invited to participate in a series of online listening sessions hosted by the ELCA Churchwide Organization, taking place Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18 at various times.
The sessions are part of a broader effort to create spaces within the ELCA ecosystem where queer individuals can gather for fellowship, affirmation, and leadership development opportunities. According to organizers, the listening sessions are intended to help shape this work through community input and shared experience.
Facilitated through the ELCA Churchwide Organization, the gatherings seek to ensure future opportunities are developed in a way that is grounded in the voices, hopes, and lived experiences of queer Lutherans. Organizers emphasize the importance of listening well and moving forward in a community-informed direction.
The first session begins at 9:00 p.m. Eastern / 6:00 p.m. Arizona time on Monday, June 15, with a total of six sessions offered throughout the week to accommodate varying schedules.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to register for one of the listening sessions using the link below:

As Lutherans, we trust that the Spirit continues to move through community, conversation, and shared discernment. These sessions offer an opportunity for listening, connection, and helping shape how queer leadership and belonging are nurtured across the wider church.
