Election Reminders: Voting Registration Deadlines Are Near
As the November 3, 2026, general election approaches, check your voter registration and mark the deadlines that apply to you. Arizona’s registration deadline is October 5, and Nevada’s standard registration deadline is October 6. The separate Navajo Nation election has a September 24, 5 p.m. registration deadline, which falls before our September 25 newsletter arrives.

Navajo Nation: September 24 registration deadline
The Navajo Nation election has its own registration and absentee-voting requirements, separate from state and federal elections. Registration closes September 24 at 5 p.m. For readers receiving this through Friday’s newsletter, that deadline has passed.
Applications requesting an absentee ballot by mail are due October 19 at 5 p.m. Follow the ballot’s return instructions or contact the Navajo Election Administration at 1-800-775-VOTE (8683). View the official Navajo Nation election notice.
Arizona: Register by October 5
Early voting begins and early ballots start going out October 7. If you need to request a ballot by mail, do so by October 23. Your completed ballot must reach an election official or an official drop-off location by 7 p.m. November 3; a postmark alone does not meet the deadline. Nevada: Standard registration closes October 6
The deadline for standard registration by mail or in person is October 6. Later online and same-day registration options remain available. In Clark County, voters registering or updating their registration on or after October 21 must vote in person for this election.
Mail ballots must be postmarked by November 3 and received by 5 p.m. November 7. Review official registration and ballot deadlines.
Utah: Register by October 23 at 5 p.m.
Register by this deadline to avoid needing to vote a provisional ballot. In-person registration is also available on Election Day. Active registered voters receive a ballot by mail, and completed ballots must be received by 8 p.m. November 3. Utah’s official election calendar · Track your ballot.
