Hope Is a Group Project: Join Wayfinding in the Commons

What if hope grows stronger in community?

Wayfinding in the Commons is a new monthly online gathering designed to help participants find clarity, connection, and encouragement for the journey of leadership, ministry, and daily life. The gathering begins Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. (Arizona/Pacific Time) on Zoom and will continue on the first Wednesday of each month.

Grounded in the idea that “hope is a group project,” these gatherings offer space for reflection, learning, and meaningful conversation—especially for those navigating uncertainty, change, or the feeling of carrying too much alone.

As author Jemar Tisby writes:

“Loneliness and isolation amplify despair, but community, partnership, and action are the antidotes. Hope is a group project.”

The gathering draws on the idea of wayfinding—the process of orienting ourselves when traveling unknown paths—and the commons, the shared spaces, relationships, and resources that help communities flourish.

Participants can expect a practical, spiritually grounded hour that includes:

  • Grounding in community through scripture, prayer, music, or reflection

  • Brief leadership learning and insights for everyday life and ministry

  • Coach-facilitated small group conversations around real-life and ministry challenges

  • Reflection and actionable next steps

Organizers describe the gathering as a place for those who are curious, seeking, leading, feeling isolated, uncertain, or simply longing for deeper connection. In short: if you are breathing, you are welcome.

For Lutheran leaders and lay people alike, Wayfinding in the Commons offers a reminder that God often meets us not only in solitude, but through shared wisdom, accompaniment, and beloved community. In a time when many feel stretched thin or uncertain about what comes next, this gathering invites participants to notice where the Spirit is moving and discern how God may already be at work around them.
