The Inside Out Network (ION) continues to break new ground this summer with an ambitious expansion of its ministry to incarcerated and returning citizens. The biggest news? A new vodcast series in partnership with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry, offering monthly episodes streamed to all 35,000+ inmates in the Arizona state system. The vodcasts will feature subject-matter experts on topics like employment, family impact, and stories from those who’ve successfully reentered society—with the goal of inspiring hope and real change from within.
Meanwhile, ION’s custom-designed tablet platform for Oregon prisons is undergoing security review, with deployment expected later this year. Once active, it will offer thousands of adults in custody easier access to reentry services via prison tablets—vastly expanding ION’s impact.
ION’s efforts in Arizona libraries are nearing full implementation, with active outreach to ensure service providers respond reliably to those reaching out. Oregon now has all 11 correctional facilities online, and Montana may soon be next. While the Mississippi project is on pause, relationships remain strong and may resume after tablet deployment.
Other highlights include:
Maddi Briguglio, ION’s Director of Operations, receiving Arizona State University’s Early Career Alumni Award.
A warm welcome to Sarah Estes, a long-time prison ministry leader, who joins the ION Board.
The release of a new 70-page resource for churches: Effective Reentry Ministry for Ordinary Congregations: A How-to Guide. A free digital version is now available.
