Palestinian Christian pastors, bishops, and scholars offer context for understanding life in Palestine and Israel, particularly the experiences of Indigenous Christians in the region. This episode focuses on daily life from 2005 through 2023.
For Lutherans, accompaniment begins with listening. We are called to receive the stories of our siblings in Christ with humility, to learn from their witness, and to seek peace grounded in justice, dignity, and nonviolence for all people.
“Sumud,” an Arabic word for steadfastness, names the ELCA’s commitment to accompaniment, advocacy, and awareness-raising alongside partners in the Holy Land. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land remains an essential Lutheran partner in this work.
