Classes are held online via Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 6:00–9:00 PM Arizona time, making participation accessible across the Grand Canyon Synod and beyond.

For more than 40 years, the Growing in Faith/Diakonia Program has helped followers of Jesus deepen their faith through thoughtful learning, Lutheran theology, and practical discipleship. Recently refreshed with new curriculum and increased flexibility, the program now includes a Foundation Year followed by optional Practical Year tracks, allowing participants to shape their learning around their gifts and interests.

The two-year structure welcomes participants wherever they are in their faith journey while encouraging deeper engagement with Scripture, theology, service, and faithful living. Whether you are exploring leadership, seeking spiritual renewal, discerning a call, or simply longing to grow, this program offers rich opportunities for learning and connection.

Each course lasts five weeks, with six courses per year. Costs include a one-time $25 enrollment fee and $70 tuition per course, with some additional book costs possible.

In the Lutheran tradition, formation is not simply about gaining knowledge—it is about becoming more deeply rooted in Christ for the sake of the world. Growing in Faith/Diakonia offers a place to ask questions, deepen understanding, and discover how faith shapes everyday life.

Talk with your pastor and take the next faithful step.
