PLTS Invites Leaders to Explore Faith and Racial Justice This Fall
Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) is continuing its Racial Justice and Faith Certificate program this fall, offering new opportunities for clergy, lay leaders, young adults, and anyone interested in exploring the intersection of faith and racial justice. The primarily online, asynchronous program invites participants to deepen reflection, strengthen leadership, and discern faithful action for their communities.
Two six-week online courses will be offered in Fall 2026:
Artistic Practice for Leaders — September–October 2026
Intersectionality & Social Justice — November–December 2026
Participants may enroll in individual courses or complete the full four-course certificate program. Courses are designed to fit participants’ schedules through an asynchronous online format, with regular Zoom opportunities for shared reflection and conversation.
Rooted in Womanist principles, the program invites participants to examine personal and communal stories through a faith lens while asking important questions about how Christian leadership responds to racial injustice and works toward transformation in congregations and communities.
The certificate is open to pastors, deacons, lay leaders, and anyone interested in the relationship between faith and racial justice. Congregations participating as groups may qualify for tuition discounts, and some synods may recognize the program toward anti-racism formation requirements.
Courses cost $250 each, with discounts available for PLTS students, alumni, and congregational groups of four or more.
For Lutherans seeking to engage difficult questions faithfully and grow in practices of justice, the program offers a structured opportunity for learning, reflection, and action in community.
