In Memoriam: Rev. John E. Groh
The Grand Canyon Synod joins in giving thanks to God for the life and ministry of Pastor John E. Groh, who died on May 17, 2026.
Pastor Groh’s passing came just days before the 60th anniversary of his ordination, a milestone that would have been celebrated this week. At this time, no memorial service has been held, and an obituary is being prepared by the family.
As Lutherans, we trust in the promise of the resurrection and give thanks for the saints who have gone before us in faith. We are grateful for Pastor Groh’s decades of service to Christ’s church and for the many lives touched through his ministry.
Please keep Nancy, their family, and all who mourn Pastor Groh’s death in your prayers.
“O God of grace and glory, we remember before you our brother, Rev. John Groh. We thank you for giving him to us to know and to love as a companion in our pilgrimage on earth. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see that death has been swallowed up in the victory of our Lord, Jesus Christ, so that we may live in confidence and hope until, by your call, we are gathered to our heavenly home in the company of all your saints; through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.”
