March 2 at 12:00 p.m. (AZ time) | Zoom Workshop

At a time of heightened polarization and increased targeting of faith and community leaders, digital security is no longer optional. It is an essential part of caring for ourselves, our colleagues, and the ministries entrusted to us.

On March 2 at 12:00 p.m., the Safe Communities Coalition will host an interactive online workshop designed specifically to help faith leaders strengthen their digital safety practices. The training will be led by Praveen Sinha, Security Director of Equality Labs, and will focus on practical tools to prevent doxxing, improve online hygiene, and respond to digital threats.

Hosted by the Safe Communities Coalition, an initiative of the Arizona Faith Network, this workshop offers tangible steps that clergy and congregational leaders can implement immediately. Participants will learn:

  • Best practices for protecting personal and congregational information

  • Strategies for preventing and responding to doxxing

  • Practical ways to strengthen passwords, privacy settings, and digital habits

  • Steps to take if you or your congregation becomes the target of online harassment

As Lutherans, we are called to proclaim the gospel boldly and to serve our neighbors publicly. In today’s digital landscape, that calling also requires wisdom and preparedness. Protecting our digital presence is part of stewarding our ministries and caring for one another.

We encourage rostered ministers, lay leaders, and congregational staff across our synod to take advantage of this timely resource.
