Tuesdays at 9 AM PT | 10 AM AZ: Join Lectio Divina with Thriving Leadership Formation

Weekly Lectio Divina | Tuesdays at 9 AM Pacific / 10 AM Arizona (MST)

Registration required for Zoom link

Leaders across our synod are invited to join a simple, spacious weekly practice of Lectio Divina every Tuesday from 9–10 am Pacific Time (10–11 am Arizona MST), hosted by Thriving Leadership Formation (ELCA Region 2).

Each gathering centers on the lectionary text for the coming Sunday. Together, participants read the text slowly, listen for the Spirit’s invitations, and hold what they hear in prayerful community. There is no pressure to prepare, perform, or produce—only to listen.

Registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link:

You may also find the event on Facebook through Thriving Leadership Formation.

This weekly hour can be a gift in multiple ways. For rostered ministers and lay preachers, it offers space to linger with the text before sermon writing begins. For all leaders, it nurtures a steady rhythm of Scripture-centered prayer in the midst of busy ministry schedules.

In a time when many of us move quickly from task to task, Lectio Divina invites us back to a distinctly Lutheran posture: receiving the Word as gift. We trust that the Holy Spirit is active in the Scriptures and present in community, speaking anew into our lives and congregations.

You are welcome to join whenever you can. Come as you are, and as your capacity allows.

This practice is led by Desta Ronning Goehner (she/her), Spiritual Director and Director of Thriving Leadership Formation of ELCA Region 2.

May this weekly pause help root your ministry—and your own faith life—more deeply in God’s living Word.
