Register Now: ELCA Rostered Ministers Gathering Set for July 6–9 in Indianapolis

All ELCA rostered ministers—pastors, deacons, and bishops, along with approved candidates for call—are invited to gather July 6–9, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, for a time of renewal, connection, and reflection on the work of the Holy Spirit. Register and learn more here.

The Rostered Ministers Gathering will begin with opening worship at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, July 6, and conclude by noon on Thursday, July 9, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. This churchwide event offers a meaningful opportunity to step away from the demands of ministry and reconnect with colleagues from across the ELCA.

Centered on the theme “Woven Together,” the gathering will explore how we are bound together in Christ through daily themes including: Woven Together with God, for Creation, as Community, and as Rostered Ministers. Through worship, keynote speakers, workshops, and fellowship, participants will be invited to reflect deeply on their calling and be renewed for the work ahead.

Registration is open now and will close on June 5 at 11:59 p.m. Central time. Early registration (through April 17) is $325, with regular registration set at $400. The registration fee includes plenary sessions, workshops, small-group conversations, affinity groups, and meals including lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with a celebration banquet. Participants will also be welcomed at an opening reception hosted by Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry.

Workshops, offered on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, are designed to equip and encourage rostered ministers in a variety of ministry contexts—offering practical tools, theological reflection, and opportunities for meaningful connection.

In a unique expression of the gathering’s theme, artist-in-residence Rev. Lori Kochanski will create a woven banner incorporating fabric pieces contributed by rostered ministers. Even those unable to attend are invited to participate by sending a small piece of fabric (8” x 10” or less) along with a brief story by May 15, reflecting the shared story of ministry across the church.

Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging. A discounted rate is available at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, with additional nearby accommodations also available.

At its heart, this gathering reflects a core Lutheran conviction: that we are not called to ministry alone, but together—held in Christ, sustained by Word and Sacrament, and strengthened through community. This July, rostered leaders are invited to pause, reconnect, and be renewed for the sake of the church and the world.
