Registration Now Open: 2026 Synod Assembly | June 11–13 in Mesa

Registration is now open for the 2026 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly, taking place Thursday, June 11 through Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Love of Christ Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona (1525 N. Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85205).

We will gather under the theme:

  • “Rooted in God’s Story.”

  • “We will tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord.” — Psalm 78

This annual assembly brings together rostered ministers, lay voting members, synod leaders, and ministry partners from across Arizona, southern Nevada, St. George (UT), and the Navajo Nation to worship, conduct synod business, discern together, and strengthen our shared mission in Christ.

Registration Details

Voting Members

  • $140 Early Bird (through Monday, April 13, 2026)

  • $160 Regular Registration (April 14 – Monday, May 18, 2026)

Lay voting members and rostered ministers (active and retired) use the same registration form.

Synod Council members and Office of the Bishop staff also register as voting members.

Visitors

  • $80
    Includes non-voting access to the full assembly.

  • $80
    Includes a table and non-voting visitor access.

Thanks to the Bishop’s Leadership Fund, each congregation may register one youth (through age 17) or young adult (18–30) voting member free of charge using the code:

This is an intentional investment in raising up the next generation of leaders in our synod. We encourage every congregation to prayerfully consider who might be called to serve and grow through this experience.

Determining Voting Members

Congregations are encouraged to review the updated guidelines for determining voting members, including:

  • The resolution allowing one additional lay voting member who is a person of color or whose primary language is other than English

  • One additional lay voting member who is a youth or young adult (confirmed through age 30)

  • Lay voting members should be split 50/50 male and female

  • All active and retired Ministers of Word and Sacrament and Ministers of Word and Service on the Grand Canyon Synod roster are voting members

  • Synod Council members and Officers are voting members

Information You’ll Need to Register

Have the following ready for each attendee:

  • Email, phone number, and mailing address

  • Preferred pronouns

  • Age group (30 and under, or over 30)

  • Ethnicity and primary language (to assist with voting eligibility considerations)

  • Special needs (dietary, translation services, child care)

  • A response to: What would make the assembly a success?
