You Are Precious in God’s Sight: A Hymn Sing of Hope and Joy at Desert Cross in Gilbert

“You Are Precious in God’s Sight” — A Hymn Sing of Hope and Joy

When the world feels overwhelming, the church gathers to sing. On Sunday, March 1, 2026, Desert Cross Lutheran Church invites the wider community to an afternoon of music, story, and shared hope at “You Are Precious in His Sight,” a hymn sing celebrating God’s abiding love.

The hymn sing will take place from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. at Desert Cross Lutheran Church, located at 3225 South Lindsay Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297. The event is free and open to all, and participants are warmly encouraged to invite a friend.

This joyful gathering will feature choirs from both Desert Cross locations, along with a rich blend of congregational hymn singing and instrumental music. Musicians include Sandy Hobbs on harp, Liz Rewolinski on flute, Ari and Gabe Nannenga on fiddle, and Marta Hatch as accompanist. A brief dramatic presentation will also highlight the life and faith of Fanny Crosby, beloved hymn writer and composer of “Blessed Assurance.”

Rooted in the Lutheran conviction that music proclaims the gospel in ways words alone cannot, this hymn sing offers space to breathe, to remember God’s promises, and to lift our voices together in trust and joy.

Following the program, everyone is invited to stay for a taco dinner in the fellowship hall—a time of simple hospitality and connection. The meal is free to all, continuing the spirit of welcome that defines the afternoon.

Come sing. Come listen. Come be reminded that you are precious in God’s sight.
