Save the Date: LuTMA Ministry Conference, June 15–17, 2027

Save June 15–17, 2027, for the Annual Transitional/Intentional Interim Ministry Conference, sponsored by the Lutheran Transitional Ministry Association (LuTMA). Open to all pastors serving in permanent or interim calls, the Tuesday–Thursday gathering will offer both in-person and online participation. Registration opens in 2027.

Keynote speaker and presenter Dr. David R. Brubaker, a mediator, consultant, and trainer, will address three challenges facing congregational leaders:

  • Change and conflict: Building resilient congregations.

  • Polarization: Leading faithfully amid deep differences.

  • Community engagement: Strengthening local relationships and building coalitions.

Brubaker is the author of When the Center Does Not Hold: Leading in an Age of Polarization. His work brings perspectives on organizational change and conflict to the daily realities of ministry.

A special pre-conference panel of transitional and intentional interim ministry practitioners will offer experience sharing and questions and answers.

For pastors across the Grand Canyon Synod, these conversations connect with our calling to proclaim Christ, nurture community, and serve our neighbors. Grounded in God’s grace, congregations can approach change with honesty, listen across differences, and discern faithful next steps together.

Mark your calendar and share this opportunity with colleagues. The 2027 announcement does not yet specify the venue, session times, or registration cost. Watch the LuTMA conference page for updates and registration information.
