Final Call: Early Bird Registration for 2026 Synod Assembly Ends April 13

Time is running out to register at the discounted early bird rate for the 2026 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly, taking place June 11–13, 2026, at Love of Christ Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona.

Voting member registration is $140 through April 13, 2026, increasing to $160 through May 18.

This annual gathering is where the shared life and direction of our synod take shape—through worship, discernment, and decision-making led by the whole people of God.

Two More Seats at the Table

Each congregation is invited not only to send its standard voting members, but also to expand participation by electing two additional lay voting members:

  • One youth or young adult (confirmed youth through age 17 or young adults ages 18–30)

  • One person of color or person whose primary language is not English

This is more than a procedural opportunity—it is a faithful response to who we are as the Body of Christ, called to reflect the fullness and diversity of God’s people.

Through the Bishop’s Leadership Fund, congregations may register one youth or young adult voting member at no cost.

  • Applies to one young person per congregation

  • Covers youth through age 17 and young adults up to age 30

This is a tangible way to raise up the next generation of leaders and invite them into the life of the church.

Who Can Serve as Voting Members?

Voting members include:

  • Lay members elected by congregations

  • All active pastors and deacons on the roster

  • Synod Council members and officers

  • Eligible retired rostered ministers

At least 60% of voting members will be laypeople, ensuring strong representation from across the synod.
