Making a Joyful Noise: Retired Pastor Naomi Barcanic Donates Instruments for Congregational Use

Retired Pastor Naomi Barcanic is offering two musical instruments as gifts to congregations or ministries that may be able to use them for worship, teaching, rehearsals, outreach, or community music-making.

The available instruments include a Yamaha Portable Grand DGX-230 / YPG-235 keyboard and a Wurlitzer upright piano. Pastor Naomi is downsizing as she prepares for a move and hopes these instruments can continue blessing others through ministry and music.

The Yamaha keyboard includes:

  • Complete manual

  • Sustain pedal

  • Earphones

  • Z-style keyboard stand

  • Adjustable keyboard bench seat

Pastor Naomi shared that the keyboard had seen very little use before being given to her, and she has enjoyed exploring its many sounds while playing hymns and secular music alike over the past several weeks.

In addition, she is also offering a Wurlitzer upright piano that she has enjoyed playing in her home for several years.

Music has always been central to Lutheran worship and community life — from congregational singing to choir rehearsals, children’s music programs, Bible camps, and fellowship gatherings. Gifts like these can help support ministries large and small throughout our synod.

Congregations, ministry partners, mission starts, campus ministries, or individuals connected to congregational music ministries who may be interested are encouraged to contact Pastor Naomi directly via email for more information.
