From Prophetic Witness to People Power: What’s New from Arizona Faith Network
Arizona Faith Network (AFN) continues to invite people of faith across Arizona into timely, faithful action rooted in justice, compassion, and care for creation. Their weekly email newsletter—sent each Wednesday morning—brings together upcoming events, advocacy opportunities, trainings, and partner updates that may be especially meaningful for congregations and leaders across the Grand Canyon Synod.

AFN Social Justice Commission

This meeting will include updates from faith and community leaders on recent ICE activity, including remarks from Interfaith Alliance’s Adam Friedman on the Choose Love, Not ICE campaign. The conversation will focus on how faith communities are responding with moral clarity, care, and coordinated action.
Faithful Voter AZ (Voting Rights) Committee

A review of Arizona State Legislative activity related to voting rights.
Cherishing Creation Collaborative

Updates on environmental legislation and preparation for Environmental Day at the Capitol.
Faith in the Public Square: Campaigns, Trainings, and Events
Prophetic Witness Campaign
A statewide, faith-rooted effort calling clergy and faith leaders to protect human dignity and respond faithfully to unjust immigration policies. Participants receive invitations to vigils, trainings, and coordinated actions.

Environmental Day at the Capitol

Join faith and community partners for a day of advocacy with legislators. This year’s theme is “People Power for the Planet!”
Training of Trainers for Faith Leaders
March 4–6 | Phoenix (location TBA)
An intensive, in-person training equipping experienced faith leaders to lead noncooperation trainings and respond faithfully to authoritarian movements.

Stories of Hope and Partnership
The newsletter also highlights recent community impact, including youth-led heat relief kit assembly supporting AFN’s Community Resilience Program—an effort that served over 55,000 vulnerable neighbors last year through 17 partner centers.
