Tune In and Sing Along: Hymn Society’s 2025 Festival Series Streaming Free
The Hymn Society’s Annual Conference is underway in Detroit, and even if you can’t attend in person, you’re warmly invited to join the global church in song. From July 13–16, four powerful hymn festivals will be livestreamed each evening at 7:30 p.m. Eastern (4:30 p.m. Arizona time), lifting up the theme: “We Believe: Faith, Community, and the Holy Act of Singing.”
These hymn festivals are free and open to the public, with streams hosted on the Hymn Society’s YouTube channel. Whether you’re watching from home, gathering with others in your congregation, or using them as inspiration for your own worship planning, these rich liturgical events are not to be missed.
Each evening brings a different focus and set of leaders:
Sunday, July 13: Faithful Journeys: A New Pilgrims’ Progress
Featuring Jan Kraybill, FHS & Mary Louise Bringle, FHS
Monday, July 14: The Holy Act of Singing Heals Brokenness
Held at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, in collaboration with the National Association of Negro Musicians
Tuesday, July 15: The Holy Act of Singing the Word
Led by Robert Batastini, FHS
Wednesday, July 16: The Holy Act of Singing Renews Peace
With C. Michael Hawn, FHS & Phillip Morgan
These gatherings remind us that music is not just decoration for worship—it is theology sung, a healing balm, and a prophetic voice for justice and peace. Lutheran theology embraces this holy act of communal singing as a means of grace and proclamation. We encourage all across the Grand Canyon Synod to sing, listen, and be renewed in spirit through these offerings.
