Free Webinar: Faith Communities Responding to the Addiction Crisis – May 28

Breaking Chains, Building Hope: A Free Webinar on Faith and the Addiction Crisis

Addiction is not a distant problem—it’s here in our congregations, our families, and our communities. On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Arizona / 10:00–11:00 a.m. Nevada / 9:00–10:00 a.m. Utah, you are invited to a free, one-hour webinar entitled “Breaking Chains, Building Hope: Faith Communities Rising Against America’s Addiction Crisis.”

Presented by the Center of Addiction & Faith, this webinar features Jeff Horowitz, CEO of SAFE Project, a national nonprofit working to combat addiction. Horowitz brings a deeply compassionate and practical perspective to the growing addiction crisis that affects all ages, backgrounds, and zip codes.

In this session, he’ll explore how our language, assumptions, and attitudes can unintentionally create barriers to healing. He’ll share powerful insights into the unexpected pathways that lead to substance use disorders—from prescribed medications and trauma to mental health challenges and social pressures—and offer faith-based, life-saving strategies to support those affected.

This webinar is especially relevant for clergy, counselors, faith and lay leaders, those in recovery, and anyone who loves someone who is struggling. Together, we’ll learn how to move beyond judgment and fear, and toward grace-filled understanding, support, and action.
