Jesus, Church, and Me: Our Youngest Voices Speak Through Art

We’re thrilled to share the first batch of submissions from our synod-wide children’s art project: Jesus, Church, and Me! Scroll all the way down to see all the art in this post.

As part of our journey toward the 2025 Synod Assembly, we invited young people across the Grand Canyon Synod—ages 3 to 18—to create original artwork inspired by this year’s theme: “Build Up the Body,” based on Ephesians 4:12-13.

Today we begin with our youngest group—children ages 3 to 5. Their artwork, full of imagination, joy, and raw creativity, reminds us of how deeply faith can take root at any age. Through finger paint and crayon, they show us what Jesus, church, and community look like to them. Their visions are as diverse and colorful as our synod itself.

All submissions will be shared in four batches leading up to the assembly, and this first group will bring a smile to your face and joy to your spirit. Each piece is being celebrated in two ways: as part of a slideshow during the Synod Assembly in Las Vegas and as postcards gifted to all attendees.

We give thanks for every child, parent, and congregation that helped make this possible. These images reflect a church alive with imagination and faith, and remind us that we are one body in Christ, no matter our age or medium.

Visit the blog throughout the coming weeks as we continue to share artwork from older age groups, building up the story of Jesus, Church, and Me—together.
