There are two categories of grant applications:

  1. Project Support Grants, and

  2. Adapting, Connecting, Transforming, and Sustaining (ACTS) Grants.

Please read each description carefully before starting the application process.


Project Support Grant

Eligibility

An applicant for this grant must be:

  • An organized congregation of the Grand Canyon Synod, or

  • A Synodically Authorized Worshipping Community (SAWC) or a Strategic Ministry of the Grand Canyon Synod, or

  • An organization or institution in good standing with the ELCA or the Grand Canyon Synod.

Description

The Project Support Grant is available for a specific, new or continuing project that serves one or more of the Grand Canyon Synod Strategic Plan goals; the maximum amount awarded is $8,000.


ACTS Grant

Eligibility

A ministry that is a Synodically Authorized Worshipping Community (SAWC) or that is classified by the Grand Canyon Synod as a Strategic Ministry may apply for this type of grant. If you are unsure of the current classification of your ministry, please contact the Grand Canyon Synod office for clarification. 

Description

This grant is available to SAWCs and Strategic Ministries as they strive to become Adapting, Connecting, Transforming, and Sustaining (ACTS). The maximum award for an ACTS grant will be $20,000.
