ELCA Foundation's giving tips for April, 2023: Blended Giving

Our synod’s ELCA Foundation planners—Lisa Higginbotham and Josh Kerney—share a monthly charitable giving tip.

Blended Giving: Not Your Kid’s New Smoothie Recipe

Its green, but not a good green. It has a slimy feel, is that the flax seed? Once more your beloved child is experimenting in the kitchen with a new health food craze, and its not turning out exactly the way she thought.  Sometimes, certain fruits just don’t go with certain veggies and the combination is, well, lumpy and unpalatable.

Considering a gift now that complements a gift at death can be the same! The right recipe is personal to you and takes thought and planning!

When you combine a gift today with a gift for the future, you:

  • Help your charities plan for the future with confidence, while meeting their needs today

  • Ensure they can continue their work while making a difference for those we serve today

  • Inspire others to give, while creating a legacy that creates a lasting impact.

Plan Your Giving Strategy

Finding the best combination of gifts to meet your charitable and financial goals can be challenging. To see the impact you can make toward the organizations you love, and make sure there are no lumps in your recipe, contact either of our Regional Gift Planners below…
