2023 Grand Canyon Synod Grants Grant Application submission window opens 9/12/2022

Good afternoon, Grand Canyon Synod leaders,

Because of your generosity, the Grand Canyon Synod is once again able to offer the GCS Grants Program, which is unique to our synod and just one example of your benevolence dollars going back to congregations to share for the sake of ministry and mission. This year’s grant window opens on September 12 and grant applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 14. Information regarding the types of grants offered, award amounts, application forms, timeline, and allowable expenses is available on our website.

Applying for grants may seem overwhelming, but we’ve simplified the process and we are here to help! On Tuesday, September 13 at 5:00 p.m., we will be offering a Grants Process Presentation by Zoom. This will be a great opportunity to get an overview of the program, ask questions, and get some helpful tips from the GCS Grants Committee on submitting a grant application. Please register here for the presentation.

So please, talk to your congregations and encourage them to apply for a Grand Canyon Synod grant and attend the informational presentation on September 13. There are so many wonderful stories of ministry and mission throughout the synod that deserve support. Grant proposals that propose a collaboration with another ELCA ministry and align with the Grand Canyon Synod Strategic Plan will be given preferential consideration.

Thank you all again for making this program possible!

For 2023, the Grand Canyon Synod is offering two categories of grant applications: Project Support Grants, and Adapting, Connecting, Transforming, and Sustaining (ACTS) Grants. More info at gcsynod.org/grants.
