Authors Patricia Rusch Duffey, Elizabeth Baldizan, and Pastor Paul Block worked with New Song Lutheran, Henderson, to publish their book, Knock, Knock (Who's there?) I AM.: 40 Real-Life Stories From People Who Experienced God In Their Lives, available on Amazon.

Life happens, and each of us have a story to share.

  • A couple lost in the rainforest of Hawaii, attempting to find their way through the thick smoke and ash of an active volcano, pray for help while an unusual vehicle suddenly pulls up behind them to lead them to safety.

  • From his hospital bed, a man regains his ability to speak, only to tell of the people he sees all around him.

  • A woman on her way to become an ordained minister realizes the path has taken a turn as she navigates obstacles and meets a man who will change everything in her life.

Forty stories like these are recorded from interviews with everyday people who shared personal experiences of how God showed up in their lives, sometimes distinctly, in a specific moment; and other times, over a long period of time, their story evolved.

A first publication for this church community, Knock, Knock. (Who’s there?) I AM is a heartfelt written reflection of the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ God has knocked on our doors, assured us, and revealed to us His presence.

This collaboration is a series of short stories which can be read one at a time as a devotional, or, using the discussion questions provided, shared in a group setting. It is an exercise that ushers in sharing life experiences, exploring guiding scripture, and renewing the power of hope and God’s active involvement in our lives today.

These brave stories will touch your heart and awaken remembrances of times that God has presented Himself to you.
