Deacon Katie Kline

Interim Director for Congregation Transition

Deacon Katie describes her role as collaborative with the Rocky Mountain Synod and Grand Canyon Synod. The collaboration of the synods is just the beginning of the collaboration, the role also oversees the collaboration of the transition processes in both synods, coaches (who work directly with the congregations), consultants, and interims.

In addition, she is currently serving a congregation in Fort Collins, Colorado and serving on the Leadership Team with Excellence in Leadership. Prior this that she served with ELCA-Global Mission in Colombia where her role was to accompany the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia in leadership development and training as well as strengthening pedagogical skills in Christian education. She graduated Luther Seminary in St Paul, MN with an MA in Leadership and Innovation for Ministry and focused her research on (and is very passionate about) the systemic support for healthy and flourishing leaders (lay and ordained) in the church. She holds a BA from Augustana University (Sioux Falls, SD) in Sociology, Psychology, and Gender Studies.

Katie lives in Fort Collins, Colorado (in the Rocky Mountain Synod) with her husband, Curtis, and their two sons, Theodore and Raphael, as well as the family dog. She enjoys hiking, running, crafting, and seeing the world through the fresh perspective of her children.
