Rev. Phil Gustafson

Transition Coach

Pastor Phil Gustafson was raised in Erie, PA and attended Thiel College (B.A. Psychology) and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.  He served at urban and suburban congregations in Philadelphia at Seminary.  He interned in Auburn, MA where he met his wife, Sandy.  He has served in Western PA in two cooperative ministries, as well as a single congregation and led one cooperative into a merger to a third congregation.  He has served on staff at one congregation in MA (and became its interim pastor) and settled pastor at another congregation in MA.  He also served as an unintentional interim at a congregation in Vermont. He developed a mission into a congregation in Missouri.  Since retirement he has served as Interim Pastor to two Grand Canyon Synod Congregations.

He was ordained June 9, 1979 and married June 10.  He is recently widowed and father of 2 sons and a daughter, all of whom are married with families and gets to spoil 7 Grandchildren.

He is also an accredited life coach with a PCC Certification from the ICF.  His specialty is coaching individuals and teams with a focus on spirituality.  He is also has Master Certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. And serves as Coordinator of ELCA Coaches in the Grand Canyon Synod.

His hobbies include golfing, fishing, and chess as well as traveling.
